To celebrate we made it through the first year of our marriage, Matthijs and I decided to go away for a bit. Neither of us wanted to do something too adventurous, and we both were in need of some time together. When we discovered The Hoxton – the hotel we stayed during our honeymoon in London – recently opened a hotel in Amsterdam, we thought it would be nice to go there. We’ve been to Amsterdam plenty of times, since it is only 30 minutes away by train, so we didn’t have a list of things we had to do while we were there. So it was a perfect day to cocoon and wander around the Nine Streets, enjoying hot chocolate and apple pie, coffee, and burgers.
